Newton A. Smith was the son of James W. Smith. He was born 13 Feb 1854 in MS, and died 27 Aug 1919 in AR. He married Sarah Frances Mitchell on 06 Aug 1876 in Faulkner Co., AR. She was born 22 Dec 1856 in AR and died 12 Jan 1918 in AR. They are buried in Pearson Cemetery, Pearson, Cleburne Co., AR. They are the parents of Izorah Smith.

Izorah Smith and Claris Lillian Smith

Izorah Smith (left) was born 18 Jun 1877 in Pearson, Cleburne Co., AR, and died 26 Jun 1961 in Cleburne Co., AR. She married Milton Smith, son of Addison Smith and Eliza Blankenship, on 02 Aug 1896 in Cleburne Co., AR. She was the daughter of Newton Smith and Sarah Frances Mitchell. Milton and Izorah are buried in Pearson Cemetery. Izorah was a lifelong member of Palestine Baptist Church. From Izorah's obituary:

"She had spent her entire life at Pearson where she was known by friends for her fine Christian character, her friendly, kind and sympathetic personality and for her unselfish devotion to the service of her family."

Their daughter, Claris Lillian Smith (right) was born Aug 1897 in AR and died in Oct 1971. She married Othur Bryan Moore 13 Apr 1918 in Cleburne Co., AR. He was the son of Columbus L. Moore and Mary J. Claris and Othur are buried in Pearson Cemetery.
